Box Score GARDEN CITY, Kansas: The Conquistadors were bested by Garden City on the road last night, falling 65-59 after two tough-fought halves.
DC3 posted a 22.9 field goal percentage, 23.3 three-point field goal percentage and 40.0 percent from the free throw line.
They were down two heading into the second half after a 29-27 differential with Garden on top. The Busters kept at it in the second half, posting a 36-32 lead over the Conqs for the six point victory after 40 minutes of work.
Azaria Nave led the team with 14 points after going 5-19 from field goal range and 4-11 from the arc. She pulled down five rebounds and led the team with three assists and three steals.
Talisha Presley and
Antania Newton were next for the Conqs with nine and eight points respectively. Presley hit three from the field, two from long range and went 1-3 from the stripe during the effort while Newton hit two from the field and went 4-4 form the charity stripe on the night.
Hannah Whitaker led the team with 11 boards while adding four blocks and two steals on the night while
Alejandra Esparza was good for seven points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Conqs.
DC3 will return home this week, taking on Butler Community College on Wednesday, January 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Civic Center.
