Box Score GARDEN CITY, Kansas: Garden City Community College volleyball had the Dodge City Conquistadors number last night, as they garnered the win in three sets. DC3 was put down 25-22, 25-15 and 25-22 throughout the match, dropping their overall record to 4-19 overall and the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference record to 0-7 so far in 2014.
Dodge City garnered 28 kills throughout three sets in 106 total attack attempts and only eight attack errors.
Conqs
Alexis Sanchez and
Daisy Cheek led the offensive effort for DC3 with seven and six kills respectively. Sanchez commanded the net with one block solo, one dig and the seven kills in 25 total attack attempts.
Cheek was 6-17 on the night, earning herself a .353 hitting percentage after no attack errors. She also led the team with 10 assists and put up five digs on the night.
Samantha Endres led the team with 11 digs and 22 serve receive attempts while
Rachel Virbickis posted five kills, one assist and
Emily Slattery posted four kills and two digs.
Brandi Fairbank also led the defense with one block solo and one block assist, while posting two kills against Garden City.
The Conqs will attempt to change the pace of the current season on Friday, September 26 when they take on Friends University JV team on the road in Wichita, Kansas.
