Offensive Second Half Propels Red Ravens past DC3 Women’s Soccer

DODGE CITY, Kansas: Conquistador women’s soccer fell 3-1 this afternoon as the Coffeyville Red Ravens put a big offensive second half up to take the advantage.

Dodge City came out strong in the first 10 minutes, working towards a goal as Kayla Turner passed up to Kristina Trinceri who broke through the defense and scored left of the Red Ravens goalie.
 
The Conqs made it harder on themselves as they scored an own goal in the 38th minute after some confusion in front of the goal putting the score at 1-1 going into the second half.
 
Despite the score, Coffeyville outshot the Conqs in the first half 5-2 and continued strong possession in the second half after posting seven shots to DC3s four.
 
In the second half, the Red Ravens scored goals six minutes apart early to drop the Conqs 3-1 by the end of regulation.
 
Elyssia Lucio had five saves on the night while Coffeyville did not post a save and allowed the one goal.
 
DC3 drops to 7-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
 
Next week, they will head to Neosho County at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 17.
