Dodge City football capped their season with the school’s first ever bowl game victory and the Conquistador defense was stellar holding New Mexico Military Institute to just six points while forcing five Bronco turnovers and holding them to just 214 total yards of offense. 

The Conqs defense was stout throughout the 2023 season holding eight opponents to under 270 total yards offense and held seven opponents to under 20 points. On the year the Conqs surrendered just 18.3 points per game which ranks seventh in the nation, while giving up just 201 points (eighth in the nation). Teams managed just 279.6 yards per game against the Conqs this season. The Conqs ranked in the Top 10 in the nation in defensive touchdowns (4) ranking third, tackles per game (71) rankings tenth, and interceptions (17) ranking seventh.
