1st Year as Assistant Football Coach – Defensive Line Coach

Xavier Morrow enters his first season on the coaching staff for Dodge City football, serving as an assistant coach on the defensive side of the ball, working with the defensive line. He joined the staff in July of 2026.
Morrow joins the Dodge City staff after wrapping up his collegiate playing career, suiting up at the University of Nebraska at Kearney during the 2025 season. The Alabama native capped his collegiate playing career playing defensive end for the Lopers and earned first-team All-MIAA honors for the 2025 season, recording 40 tackles, the fourth most on the team. He added 11.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
He started his playing career at the junior college level playing at Independence Community College in the KJCCC, suiting up for the Pirates three season 2020 (COVID), 2021, and 2022. During the 2022 season, Morrow earned second-team NJCAA All-American honors at linebacker and first-team All-KJCCC after leading Indy in tackles with 66 and adding two sacks, an interception, and nine tackles for loss as he ranked second in the KJCCC in solo tackles (49) and tackles per game (8.3), along with ranking fifth in total tackles. In the 2021 season, he posted 45 tackles for the Pirates.
After his time at Indy, he transferred to NCAA DI Jacksonville State for the 2023 season before moving on to the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he redshirted the 2024 season before finishing his college career in 2025 for the Lopers.
In high school, he was a two-time all-state selection and broke the record at Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for career tackles.
Morrow earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
