Alyssia Martinez enters her first season as assistant women’s basketball coach at Dodge City, coming to Dodge after spending the 2024-25 season on staff at Augustana University as an assistant coach. 
 
Martinez, while at Augustana, worked on player development in several ways as an assistant coach, along with recruiting, coordinating travel, meals, etc., while also overseeing marketing/fundraising and social media. She helped coach a second-team All-NSIC player, Hannah Burg at Augustana. Before Augustana, Martinez was the Director of Graphic Design/Video and Development Liaison for Air Force Academy women’s basketball. While at Air Force, she assisted in player development, organization of travel logistics, and clipped game and practice footage for film sessions, among many tasks. On staff at Air Force Academy from 2022-2024, she was a part of the program's second and third-winningest seasons. 
 
She started her coaching career at Augustana, where in 2021-22 she was an Operations and Marketing Graduate Assistant. For the Vikings, Martinez's duties included graphic design, event management, and marketing. From May 2019 to August 2019, she was Director of Guest Services with Spearfish Sasquatch Baseball Club. 
 
Prior to her time at Augustana, Martinez played college basketball at NCAA Division II Black Hills State University, seeing action in 110 games over five seasons (2016-2021) as a guard, finishing with 429 career points, while shooting over 40% from three-point range. The Colorado native was part of the Black Hills State team that earned an NCAA DII National Tournament At-Large bid in 2017, along with being on the team making an appearance in 2020-21 and was part of the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament champions team. She was also named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll in 2018-19 and 2020-21. 
 
Martinez earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Black Hills State in 2021 before receiving a Master's Degree in Sports Administration and Leadership from Augustana in May of 2024.
