Aspriona "Ace" Gilbert spent one season with the Dodge City CC women's basketball helping the team to a 19-13 reocrd and 13-11 mark in the KJCCC.

She came to Dodge City after spending two seasons on the sideline as a graduate assistant at Delta State University. 

During her tenure at Delta State she helped the Lady Statesmen to a 23-7 record and 14-6 GSC mark during the 2019-20 season. The Lady Statesmen finished runner-up to top seed Union University in the GSC Tournament while earning the first NCAA DII South Region tournament berth since 2015-16.  Senior, forward Quantesha Patterson had a stellar year under Gilbert's tutelage, garnering First-Team All-GSC, D2SIDA Third-Team All-American and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American honors. The duo of Patterson and Zyaire Ewing were a force in the painted area for the Green-and-White, combining for 30.7 points and 24.1 rebounds per game. Gilbert helped the tandem post top tier numbers in the GSC as both Patterson and Ewing ranked in Top five of several statistical categories. 

Ace wrapped up her collegiate playing career playing her final two seasons at Delta State in 2015-16 and 2016-17. She played in 57 games with nine starts averaging 9.3 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, and shot 54.2% from the floor. During her senior year she averaged 10.5 points per game for the Lady Statesmen while helping the team earn a NCAA Division II South Region berth. She also helped the Lady Statesmen win the Gulf South Conference Tournament championship her junior year. 

Prior to Delta State, Gilbert started her college career at Austin Pea State where she red-shirted a season before missing the following year due to an injury. Gilbert transferred to Northwest Mississippi College and played one season where she played in 26 games, averaging 17.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 70% from the floor. 

Gilbert prepped at Myrtle High School under coach Chris Greer, where she averaged 23.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting 66 percent from the field as senior. The Myrtle, Miss., native averaged 22.8 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.7 blocks as a junior. Gilbert ranked 11th among all Mississippi players in scoring and 15th in rebounding en route to All-State honors and  a Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. Gilbert was ranked sixth in the FILA Mississippi Class of 2012.
