Rian Kolbeck served as assistant softball coach for Dodge City for one season, serving on the coaching staff during the 2023-24 school year. 

In her first season she helped the Conquistadors the team posted a 13-33 record and 11-21 in KJCCC action. The Conqs went 2-2 in the Region 6 Tournament to finish fourth in the region. One Conq earned All-KJCCC Conference honors for the 2024 season. 

Kolbeck comes to Dodge City after just wrapping up her collegiate playing career as she played four seasons of softball at Missouri Western State University. During her four seasons at Missouri Western State she played in 115 games with 61 starts finishing with a .214 career batting average. During the 2021 season she had a .254 batting average with 15 hits, nine runs scored, two home runs, two doubles, and 11 RBI. All four seasons Kolbeck earned MIAA Academic honor roll honors. 

While being on the staff at Dodge City will be Kolbeck's first official coaching job she has had plenty of experience during the off season working with high school athletes sharing her experience in the game of softball teaching and developing skills. 

She graduated from Missouri Western State with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science with a minor in Wellness.
