Chris Robinson is in his 15th year as the head men’s golf coach at Dodge City. Robinson has continued the success of the program with a current run of qualifying for the NJCAA National Championships in all 14 years as coach and continuing the programs streak of qualifying for Nationals to 35-straight years. 

The 2023-24 year saw Robinson coach Thanaphon Suwannapratheep to the NJCAA Division I National Championship as he posted a four-round score of 275 (-9) to win the first NJCAA national title at Dodge City since 2000. He's guided the Conquistadors to seven Top 10 finishes as a team at the NJCAA National Championships with his best team performance being seventh place happening three times during his coaching tenure, coming in 2025 and 2015, along with his first year as head coach, 2012. His teams have not finished lower than 18th at the NJCAA National Championships. He has guided the Conquistadors to four KJCCC Championships in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2018, while his teams have won Region 6 titles seven times (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2023, 2024) and District titles three times (2013, 2015, 2023). 

During Robinson's tenure as head coach the Conquistadors have been ranked in the Top 10 of the NJCAA, Bushnell/Golfweek and Golfstat polls on a regular basis even reaching the #1 spot in all the polls at times. Robinson has coached five NJCAA All-Americans, 11 Ping All-Americans, three Region VI Player's of the Year, five Jayhawk Conference Players of the Year, 15 First-Team All-Region 6 players, 20 First-Team All-Conference players and several Second Team and honorable mention All-Conference and All-Region 6 players. Some of the top individual honors under Robinson for his golfers included: Thanaphon Suwannapratheep (2024) NJCAA DI National Champion, first-team NJCAA DI and PING All-American; Arthit Kruaprayong (2024) KJCCC Player of the Year and first-team PING All-American, and Region 6 and Central District champion as freshman in 2023; Witchayapat Sinsrang (2017) was first team Ping All-American; Supakit Seelanagae PING All-American All-Freshman team (2022) and qualified and played in Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (finished Top 50); Nick Kagy (2018) won the Jimmy Russell award for Male Golfer of the year; Rhys Nicholas (2025) second-team NJCAA All-American, honorable mention PING All-American, and All-District, along with coaching several other successful golers. 

Academically the Conquistadors have been greatly successful under Robinson also winning the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors six times (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020) and also earning Farmers Insurance Academic National Champions honors three times (2012, 2014, 2018). 

Robinson has been the Head PGA Golf Professional at Mariah Hills Golf Course since 2009. Chris is married to Carson Ballard from Haviland, Kansas and they have a son, Aidan, and two daughters, Blythe and Rory.
