Steve Tucker coached three seasons at Dodge City CC as head coach for the men's basketball program. During his three seasons he posted a 26-66 record over 92 games. 

Coach Tucker has an quite a resume and background of experience including four ABA National Championships to his credit. Coach Steve Tucker is a native of Long Beach, Mississippi. He has compiled an impressive record during his career of winning games and championships on every level he has ever coached on.  He attributes his success to the men who have worked with him on his coaching staffs, and of course, the men who have played for him during his coaching career. Coach Tucker has enjoyed great success during his coaching career!  He has been rated as one of the Top Professional Head Coaches Not Coaching in the NBA (by Pro Basketball News.com).  He has been named “Coach of the Year” 13 times during his career, along with having won 17 League or Conference/Division Championships. Coach Tucker led the Mavericks Pro Basketball Team to the 2015/2014/2011/2010 ABA/Pro Basketball National Championships. Coach Tucker was also selected USbasket National Coach of the Year for the 2014-15 Season. He was the Eurobasket/USbasket and Pro Basketball News National Coach of the Year for the 2010-11 and 2008-09 seasons for all leagues playing outside the NBA. Coach T was selected as the ABA Coach of the Decade for the years 2001 through 2010 and is the only Coach to be named National Coach of the Year five consecutive seasons.  He is also the only coach in ABA history to be selected 7 times as ABA All-Star Coach. Coach Tucker led the Mavericks when they were located in Shreveport-Bossier, LA to a 66-0 record during the 2014-15/2013-14 seasons to become the only team to have back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and the only back-to-back undefeated Champions in Pro Basketball History. Coach T led the Kentucky/Shreveport-Bossier/SETX Mavericks to 103 consecutive wins, which stands as the longest winning streak in Professional Basketball history. The Mavericks also holds the longest home winning streak in Pro Basketball history at 104 straight wins. Coach Tucker led the Mavs to 7 straight postseason appearances. Coach Steve Tucker was one of the youngest head coaches in the nation in college basketball at the age of 22, when he was named the head coach at Phillips College.  At the age of 28, he became one of the youngest head coaches on the NCAA Division I level ever, when he was named head coach at Sam Houston State University.  By the age of 35, Coach T had led teams to the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA National Championship Tournaments.  He also led Athletes In Action-USA to the Gold Medal in the 1982 Micronesian Games and to an undefeated tour of Europe in 1983 (20-0-only team to ever accomplish this). Coach Steve Tucker became a Professional Basketball Coach and General Manager at the age of 37, when he was hired to lead the Mississippi Coast Sharks of the Global Basketball Association (GBA).  Coach Tucker now holds the record in Pro Basketball for coaching in more Pro Basketball Leagues than anyone in the history of the game.  He has coached in 8 different Pro Basketball Leagues (ABA, CBA, WBA, BBL, IBA, USBL,GBA, & PBL) Coach Tucker is one of the few coaches that has won championships on the professional, collegiate, and international levels!  He has coached 27 players that have gone on to play in the NBA. During his Coaching Career Coach Tucker has always been concerned with the development of the game of basketball worldwide.  He has conducted camps & clinics for both players and coaches throughout the world.  As well, Coach T is recognized around the world as an ambassador of the Game of Basketball. Coach Steve C. Tucker has always been active on the college campuses and in the communities, with the Professional Basketball Franchises/Clubs and colleges where he has coached!  He has used the Platform of Basketball, whether in college or in the pros to advocate better ways of living in our society and in the empowerment of youth to live positive lives within the world we all live in today.RECORD:

  • Led the Shreveport-Bossier/SETX Mavericks to the All-Time Record for the #1 Ranking in the ABA Power Rankings -33 consecutive weeks over 2 seasons
  • The Shreveport-Bossier/SETX Mavericks are the only team to ever be ranked #1 in the ABA Power Rankings for an entire season (2014-15 & 2010-11 seasons).
  • The Kentucky/S-B/SETX Mavericks hold the longest winning streak in PBL/ABA History by winning 103 consecutive games (longest winning streak in pro basketball history-includes 104 straight wins at home)
