Jake Williams spent two seasons leading the Dodge City CC men's basketball program being name the Head Men’s Basketball Coach on April 1, 2020. He came to Dodge City following a three-year stint as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at USC Salkehatchie, an NJCAA Division I program who competes in Region 10.

During his two seasons at Dodge City he went 44-14 including a 30-5 record during the 2021-22 season which was a record setting season. The 30 wins marks a single season best in school history and the team went 21-3 in KJCCC action which is the most KJCCC wins in a single season in school history. The team won the KJCCC title (first since 2007) and Region VI title (first since 1982). The team earned a trip to the NJCAA Division I Tournament and finished in the Elite Eight.

During his three years at USC Salk, Williams compiled a 68-24 overall record, including a 27-4 (11-1 Region 10) record in the 2019-2020 season. For the first time in program history the Indians experienced back-to-back-to-back 20+ win seasons, back-to-back-to-back Region 10 Player of the Year and All-American Selections, and made a trip to the Region 10 Championship in each of the 3 seasons as well.

The 2017-2018 season resulted in a 20-10 overall record and a Region 10 Runner-Up falling just short of a National Tournament bid. The 2018-2019 season resulted again in a 21-10 overall record and a Region 10 Runner-Up finish.

The 2019-2020 season was the programs most historic season to date. The Indians finished the 2019-2020 season 27-4 and were Region 10 Regular Season Champions as well as District 10 Tournament Champions. USC Salk won its first ever Region and District Championship. With an automatic bid to Hutchinson, KS for the National Tournament, the Indians received the #7 overall bid and a first-round bye into the Sweet 16 before COVID-19 led to cancellation.

Prior to USC Salk, Williams served as an Assistant Coach at Northwest Florida State. In his two years in Destin, FL he saw 10 student-athletes graduate and move on to Division 1 programs.

In 2016-2017 at Northwest Florida, Williams helped lead the Raiders to a 29-5 overall record, an undefeated Panhandle Conference Championship and a Final Four appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament. He played a huge role in the development of both guards and post players which highlighted Daryl Edwards (Louisiana State University), Jared Wilson-Frame (Pittsburgh), Ron Freeman (Long Beach State), Jeromy Rodriguez (East Tennessee State), and Malik Petteway (Robert Morris).
In his first season as an Assistant Coach at Northwest Florida, the Raiders finished the 2015-2016 season at 27-6 after winning the Panhandle Conference Championship, Region 8 Tournament Championship, and making an Elite 8 appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament. Williams was instrumental in the development of the Front Court for the Raiders which highlighted Will Pfister who signed to Florida Atlantic, and Moustapha Diagne who is now at Western Kentucky. Williams was responsible for the recruitment of student athletes, player development, scouting, film exchange, team travel, monitoring of student-athlete academic progress, and the strength and conditioning program.

Prior to Northwest Florida State, Williams was the Director of Basketball Operations at North Carolina Central University for the 2014-2015 seasons. While at NC Central, the Eagles went 16-0 in MEAC play to win the regular season title, and earned an automatic bid into the NIT. At NC Central, Williams was in charge of day-to-day operations of the program, advanced scout, advanced recruiting, program newsletter, marketing of the program, and facility modifications for recruiting purposes.
Before landing at NC Central, Williams was at Middle Tennessee State University, where he served as a Student Assistant/Video Coordinator for the men’s basketball program. He worked for Head Coach Kermit Davis from 2012-2014. During his first season at Middle Tennessee State, Williams saw the Blue Raider program go 19-1 in the Sun Belt Conference earning the regular season championship and an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. MTSU finished that season 28-6 after falling to St. Mary’s in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The following season, MTSU went 13-3 in Conference USA and earned a share of the regular season title, finishing the year 24-9. At MTSU, Williams was in charge of video editing, film exchange, assisting with the skill development of players during and outside of practice, assisted the Director of Basketball Operations with the day-to-day duties of the program, as well as the orchestration of elite and team basketball camps.

Williams graduated from Middle Tennessee State where he studied Health Education and Sport Management, and is a native of Ashland City, Tennessee. His vision for the Conquistador basketball program is to have a 100% graduation rate and to help all of his players sign scholarships to respected 4-year universities. He comes to Dodge City with his fiancé, Justine Kruger and their dog. They are engaged to be married in 2021.
