Brody Gronewold spent three seasons as assistant men’s basketball coach at Dodge City.
In his first year on the sideline for the Conquistadors he helped the team to a KJCCC title and NJCAA Division I National Tournament appearance, finishing 25-10 overall and 18-6 in KJCCC play. The Conqs finished in the Elite Eight at the National Tournament going 2-1. He helped coach a first team NJCAA DI and NABC All-American in Jason Edwards who was named KJCCC Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. While he also helped coach four players earn KJCCC All-Conference honors, while Edwards also was selected to NJCAA DI National Tournament All-Tournament team and Chris Robinson won the Bud Obee Outstanding Small Player award. Year two saw the Conqs go just 9-22 on the season while a pair of players earned KJCCC All-Conference honors, while year three saw the Conqs go 15-17 and have two players earn KJCCC All-Conference honors.
Gronewold worked with Head Coach, Brad Witherspoon during the 2021-22 season at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa and followed Witherspoon to Dodge City. He helped the NOC Mavericks to a 21-8 record and 12-4 mark in the OCAC winning the Conference title.
Prior to joining Witherspoon at NOC-Tonkawa Gronewold served as an assistant for two seasons at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.
In Gronewold's two seasons at John Wood, the Blazers were back-to-back conference champions and made a national tournament appearance in 2019-20.
As a player, Gronewold played at two years at John Wood (2013-15); where he played on teams that appeared in back-to-back national tournaments including a National Runner-up finish in 2015. Gronewold earned All-MVAC and All-Region Team in 2013-15. After his time at John Wood, he transferred to Missouri Valley College where he played two seasons, earning All-Conference honors both seasons and NAIA All-American honors his senior year (2016-17). He also was awarded the NAIA Emil S. Liston Award his junior season at Missouri Valley, which is awarded for high athletic and scholastic achievement.
Gronewold earned a Master's in Business Administration at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, after earning a Bachelor of Science at Missouri Valley College. He previously earned an Associates of Science from John Wood College.
