Alec Nys enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Dodge City men’s basketball program joining the staff in August of 2022.
Nys worked as a student manager at Montana State working with the NCAA Division I program and was part of the culture change for the Bobcats the program went from a losing record to 2022 Big Sky Champions and a berth into the 2022 NCAA tournament.
He helped kickstart the Montana Rebels AAU program and was one of the first coaches and administrators for the program. Nys has also taught club basketball at several levels from grades fourth to 12th.
In high school, Nys was a four-year basketball letterman at Laurel high school and a three-year track and field letterman. He was part of a state championship for LHS in 2015.
