Tyrie Adams joins the Dodge City Community College football staff fresh off his playing career in college at Western Carolina University and in the Champions Indoor Football League with the Salina Liberty.
 
Adams played quarterback for the Salina Liberty in the CIF for the 2020-21 season helping the team to a 13-2 record as he went 8-1 in the games he played in finishing the season with a 70.9% completion percentage on 83-117 passing for 944 yards with 25 touchdowns and three interceptions. Salina Liberty made the CIF Championship game falling to the Omaha Beef by one-point.
 
In college after a redshirt season Adams played in 44 games at quarterback for the Catamounts of Western Carolina. During his time as a Catamount he threw for nearly 9,000 yards passing (8,978 yards) on 63% completion percentage while tossing 64 touchdowns, he added 2,547 yards rushing with 18 touchdowns. He is one of 11 players to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a single season in FCS history (junior season). Earned All-American honors multiple times, along with All-Southern Conference honors multiple times, and appeared on the Walter Payton Award final ballot multiple times in his career.
 
He is the all-time leader in Western Carolina history in career completions, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total offense yards, and multiple single season offensive records, along with being the first Catamount to ever eclipse the 11,000-yard plateau. He ranks in the top five in several other statistical categories in school history and in the Southern Conference.
