Tim Bennett was hired as the Defensive Backs Coach in January of 2019.
Bennett brought several years of experience playing and as a coach at several different levels.
From there he decided to make the jump to the college level where he became a graduate assistant for the University of Findlay. His primary duties at Findlay were coaching cornerbacks, film, and recruiting. He was in charge of recruiting Southwest Georgia, as well as several areas in the state of Indiana.
Following his playing career, he started his coaching career back where his playing career started at Northside High School. He was there from 2015-17 and served as the Secondary coach. In addition to his duties as secondary coach for the varsity team, he also served as the head coach of the freshman team and defensive coordinator for the junior varsity team. He also assisted in getting players recruited at the college level.
As a player, he competed at the Junior College, and NCAA Division 1 levels. He had a very good playing career, earning all-region VII honors for his play at Ellsworth in his freshman year. He then transferred to Indiana University where he started every game of his junior and senior season and was named honorable mention all-big ten after his junior season. Following his college playing career, he spent time in camp with several different professional organizations, including the San Diego Charges, and Detroit Lions of the National Football League.
