Thaddeus Turner served as Defensive Coordinator for Dodge City football program (Spring 2021-Spring 2023).
In his first year leading the defense for the Conquistadors the Conqs three defensive players earned honorable mention All-KJCCC honors in 2022 as the team went 3-7. He helped Conqs post an 8-3 record in 2024 to finish second in the KJCCC and win the program's first ever bowl game beating New Mexico Military Institute 35-7 in the Wool Bowl. The Conqs finished the 2024 season ranked #6 in the final NJCAA rankings. Turner had the Conqs as the seventh best scoring defense in the NJCAA giving up just 18.3 points per game on 279.6 total yards per game which ranked 12th in nation. He coached nine players that earned All-KJCCC honors during the 2024 season.
The Georgia native came to Dodge City with some coaching experience at the high school level, along with experience NFL playing experience. He spent the past few years serving as wide receivers coach at Whitefield Academy in Georgia and worked as runningbacks coach at Pace Academy in Georgia.
Turner was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and played cornerback in the NFL spending time with Colts, New England Patriots, and Arizona Cardinals.
During his collegiate career Turner played at Ohio University where he started out as a wide receiver and transitioned to cornerback. He played in 46 games over four seasons for the Bobcats totaling 105 tackles and three interceptions, with a 60 tackle season coming his senior year in 2009. He earned second team All-MAC honors and participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl college all-star game.
Turner earned his degree from Ohio University and is married with two daughters, Zoe, and Chloe. His wife is a flight medic with the U.S. Air Force.
