Patrick Cox returned to the Dodge City coaching staff after a year away and is in charge of the outside linebackers. He previously was the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach under Head Coach, Ricky Coon for the 2018 and 2019 season.
He comes to Dodge City from Southeast Missouri State University (FCS). Cox was awarded an Ohio Valley Conference defensive assistant coach of the year award having coached the safeties for a defense that led the nation in takeaways (36), interceptions (23), turnover margin (+24), and made it to the 2nd round of the FCS playoffs.
Cox has previous junior college experience having coached linebackers at both Iowa Western Community College, and Ellsworth Community College. In his junior college coaching career, he has coached 7 NJCAA defensive All-Americans, collected multiple Region XI championships, and 3 NJCAA bowl victories.
