Coach Shelton came to Dodge City Community College with plenty of knowledge regarding the game of football and coaching it.
Coach Shelton, for the last four years, has been an assistant football coach for Bucklin Schools in Bucklin, KS. There he was in charge of the technological aspects of the program including but not limited to the team website, highlight videos, in addition to being tasked with increasing participation and helping to create a new academic standard for the program.
Prior to his high school coaching experience, Coach Shelton was on the staff at McPherson College from 2008-2014. The first two years he was a student assistant, but after graduating, he was made a full-time member of the staff as the running backs coach/assistant recruiting coordinator.
Coach Shelton graduated from McPherson College with his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education & Health, and from Newman University with his master's degree in Education.
