A native of Kenya, Eliud Njubi is still considered one of the most decorated track and field and cross country athletes to ever compete at the NJCAA level. Njubi was a member of the 1998 Dodge City Community College men's cross country national title team and would go on to run collegiately at the NCAA Division I level. 

Njubi was a 12-time NJCAA National Champion while at DC3 and earned NJCAA All-American honors 14 times between his two years (1998-2000) at DC3. He helped guide the Conquistadors to the 1998 NJCAA men's cross country national championships as the team posted the lowest team in NJCAA Division I competition with just 27 points. Njubi paced the Conqs with a time of 24:18 to win the individual men's cross country title in 1998 and then defended his title in 1999 with a time of 24:17.9 to win back-to-back NJCAA national titles. 

In track and field dominated competition claiming 10 NJCAA national championships. During the 1999 season Njubi won both the 1,000-meter run (2:23.44) and one-mile run (4:12.85) during indoor, while in outdoor he won three events - 1500-meter run (3:51.24), 5000-meter run (14:25.33), and 800-meter run (1:47.30). He was also part of the third place team in distance medley relay during the indoor season in 1999. In 2000 he claimed five more NJCAA national championships winning the one-mile run (4:04.86) and 3,000-meter run (8:21.91) during indoor season, while also taking second in the 5,000-meter run. During the outdoor season Njubi won the 800-meter run (1:50.51), 1500-meter run (3:57.19), and 5,000-meter run (14:52.95). 

He still holds the school record in one-mile run, 1000-meter run, and 3,000-meter run in indoor season, along with 800-meter run and 5,000-meter runs in outdoor. He still holds the NJCAA record for the 1,000-meter run in indoor (2:23.44) and held the the record in the one-mile run in indoor up until 2020. 

Njubi attended Texas Christian University after competing at Dodge City. While at TCU he finished in 28th place at the NCAA Championships, set the Horned Frogs's school record in the one mile, 1,500 meters, and the 3,000 meters, was a four-time All-American at TCU, held school records in five events total, and is still considered one of the greatest distance runners in TCU history. He was named the 2000 WAC Cross Country Male Athlete of the Year. 

Njubi record of 2:23.44 in the 1,000 meters still stood as of 2017 as an NJCAA Track and Field record. 

Njubi resides in the Dalls/Fort Worth, Texas area as a running coach for the TrainLikeAKenyan Running Club.
