Danielle Damron, one of the best to ever put on a Dodge City Community College softball uniform, and entered DC3 Athletics Hall of Fame with more than her fair share of school records along with being a part of the winningest softball season in school history.
Damron and the Conquistadors posted a 42-14 record during the 1999 season winning the KJCCC West title with the 42 wins marking the most in school history in a season. The 1999 team and Damron would break multiple team and individual school records. She earned All-KJCCC first-team honors at pitcher in 1999 her sophomore season, along with picking up All-Region VI first-team honors and third team NJCAA All-American honors.
The 1999 season saw Damron throw 211.1 innings and had just a 1.26 ERA for the season with 28 wins and 299 strikeouts. Her 28 wins and 299 strikeouts in the most in a single season in school history, along with her 211.1 innings pitched in the 1999 season. She also holds the school record for career strikeouts (450) nearly 200 more than the second most, along with holding the record for career wins with 45 and career ERA with a sub one ERA at 0.99. Damron also ranks second in school history in innings pitched with 350.2 innings.
After her career as a Conquistador, Damron went on to play one year at Kennesaw State University and currently resides in Arizona with her husband Hector and daughter Paige.
