Amanda Best attended Dodge City from the fall of 2011 through the spring of 2013, suiting up for the Conquistador softball program. She would put together a two-year career at Dodge City that saw her earn second-team NJCAA All-American honors in 2012, while earning All-KJCCC honors both years (2012 & 2013) and was selected at the KJCCC West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2012. To this day, Best still holds records as the career home runs leader with 34 and single season home runs hitting 17 in each season at Dodge City. Best also ranks in Top 10 in school history in several other categories: Single-Season - second batting average (.500 - 2013), tied fourth hits (71 - 2013), tied fourth RBI (57 - 2013), fourth doubles (18 - 2013) eighth runs scored (49 - 2013), and tied tenth (45 - 2012); Career - second batting average (.466), third RBI (102), fifth hits (132), fifth doubles (30), and tied seventh runs scored (89).

After Dodge City, Best went on to Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan where she payed for two seasons and was named to the GLIAC first team All-Conference in both seasons. Her junior year she hit .324 with 33 hits, 25 runs, eight doubles, five home runs, 26 RBI, and 10 walks, while finishing her two years at Saginaw Valley State with 63 hits, 41 runs, 12 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, and 50 RBI. 

In 2014, Best traveled to Curacao Island with Team USA for USAAI (USA Athletes International). 

Best now is in the gym industry as an assistant manager for Crunch Fitness and a certified personal trainer. She resides in Michigan with her husband, Joe.Â
