He also ranks in Top 10 with several other performances including: second (2,627) and third (2,425) in single season passing yards, tied for second single season passing touchdowns (21), second in career passes completed (348), third (176) and fourth (172) in single season passes completed, and eighth in both career (54.4%) and single season (56.9%) completion percentage. He earned KJCCC All-Conference First Team accolades in both 2004 and 2005. He was named a second team NJCAA All-American in 2005, a season which saw him play in 11 games throwing for 2,425 yards with 21 touchdowns and added 387 yards rushing with three touchdowns.

At Troy University, Omar continued to earn awards including Sun Belt Player of the Year in 2006 and the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007. He was a member of the New Orleans Bowl Champions (2006) and was named the game MVP in addition to being named Newcomer of the Year and first team All-Conference for quarterback. Also in 2006, he was awarded Amateur Athlete of the Year by the Palm Beach (Florida) county Sports Commission.

Mr. Haugabook's sights were set on the NFL until a hamstring injury at Troy's NFL Pro Day limited his ability to show his full potential. He then signed with the BC Lions of CFL for their training camp. Omar played for one year in the SIFL with the Houma Conquerors and was named to the All-SIFL team at quarterback in 2009. In 2010, he was the offensive coordinator for Ellender Memorial High School.
