Under the lights again to keep the cross country season rolling, the Dodge City men's cross country team traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete at the Rogers State Distance After Dark.
For the second straight year,
Josue Vega had a stellar performance at the event, outrunning several runners from four-year schools, including many NCAA Division II programs. Vega finished fourth out of 180+ runners, helping the Conquistadors finish 11
th overall as a team.
Vega raced to a time of 20:22.7, improving his time as a freshman from last year at the same event by five seconds and placing fourth at the event.
Asher English posted the second-fastest time for the Conqs on the night, finishing 99
th with a time of 22:53.9. With a time of 23:25.4,
Eddie Salinas Millan had the third-fastest time for the Conqs, while
Rylan Johnson posted a time of 24:13.5 and
Elijah Kisner finished with a time of 24:43.9 to cap the Conqs team scoring.
Jose Chavez Ramirez finished out the Conqs' performances, recording a time of 25:17.4.
The season continues quickly for the Conqs, as they are set to race again on Friday, September 11
th, at the Ollis Isom Invite hosted by Butler CC.
