For the second straight week, the Dodge City football team won after taking down #10 Iowa Central 38-24 at home, and for the second straight week, a Conquistador has been recognized with KJCCC Player of the Week honors.

Special teams played a big role for the Conqs in the win over Iowa Central, and the play of freshman Sean Heisle stood out as he recovered an onside kick in the fourth quarter that set up the drive that pushed the Conqs back in front. He again struck on the kickoff late in the game as the Conqs forced a fumble after going up 38-24 with 1:35 left, and Heisle recovered the fumble on the kickoff, allowing the Conqs to run out the clock. He added a special teams tackle to his day.

Heisle is the fourth Conq to earn KJCCC Player of the Week honors this season, and the first to earn special teams' recognition since October 1^st, 2024.

The Conqs are back in action on Saturday, October 3^rd, when they take on Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 2:00 pm in Miami, Oklahoma.
