Women's Soccer Unable to Stay With #9 Cowley Falling On the Road

September 16, 2026

Box Score Dodge City women's soccer faced their second top-ranked opponent in their last three games and struggled to keep up with #9 Cowley on the road, falling 5-1.

The Conquistadors, with the loss, move to 4-2 on the season and fall to 1-2 in KJCCC action.

Shots were far and few for the Conqs, while Cowley took advantage of their shot opportunities with quality shots. The Conqs fell behind in the tenth minute as Cowley scored their first goal of the night. The Tigers pounced again in the 17thand 18th minutes, netting two more goals in quick succession, and by halftime they had added another. The Conqs got on the board when Laia Darnaculleta Rey booted the ball forward and, after a few bounces, it fell to Sarah Rollow, who turned on the jets, racing past the Cowley defense to score. The second half was much like the first, with chances for each side; the Conqs couldn't score, while Cowley added another in the 67th minute, leading the Conqs to a 5-1 loss on the road.

In the loss, the Conqs were outshot 11-5, but Cowley had seven of their 11 shots be shots on goal.

The Conqs are back home on Sunday, September 20th when they host Barton at 3:00 pm following the men's contest.
