September 15, 2026

Box Score Dodge City volleyball kept it rolling on the road on Monday night, taking down #16 Barton in straight sets to remain unbeaten in Jayhawk Conference play.

The Conquistadors earned a 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 win over the Cougars, snapping a six-game losing streak against Barton while earning just the fifth win over them in Great Bend in the series history.

After giving up the initial point of the night, the Conqs took the lead in the first set with an early 4-0 run to double up the Cougars at 8-4. However, Barton answered, pulling to within one at 15-14, only to see the Conqs respond with another late run and take the first set 25-21. Barton grabbed the lead in the second set and kept the Conqs at bay until they erased a five-point deficit with a 7-2 run to tie the set at 19-19. Conqs finally snuck ahead late in the second set, 23-22, and ultimately closed out the set on a 4-0 run to take it 25-22. The third set saw Barton lead most of it, with a brief Conq lead at 12-11, but the Conqs were down 23-20 and put together a 5-0 run to cap the night in three sets on the road.
