2026 Conquistador Football Schedule Released

June 03, 2026

Dodge City football is set for its next conquest, as the 2026 schedule has been finalized and will feature a stacked slate of top-notch opponents yet again. Year three under Head Coach Ryan Lusby will feature a revamped roster and some new faces on the coaching staff for the Conquistadors as they look to compete at the highest level in the NJCAA.

The Conqs have an action-packed slate of 11 games to make up the 2026 schedule with six games at home and five on the road. The schedule will once again feature the six other KJCCC schools, all three Iowa schools, and two other top-flight NJCAA opponents in non-conference tilts. Seven of the 11 opponents on the schedule finished the 2025 season ranked in the final NJCAA Division I national rankings (Top 15).

Conqs embark on the 2026 season on Thursday, August 20th when they kick-off the year against New Mexico Military in one of the first NJCAA games of the season. The Conqs will travel to Roswell, New Mexico to take on NMMI for only the ninth time in program history, as they are 5-3 in previous meetings, with the last being in 2023 in the Wool Bowl (won 37-6). The game is slated for an evening kick-off with an 8:00 pm kick-off (7:00 pm MT).

After the season opener, the Conqs will continue to work on their craft leading up to the first conference game of the season as they host rival Garden City on Saturday, September 5th. Following the clash with the Broncbusters, the Conqs are back on the road to take on the defending national champions, Iowa Western, on Saturday, September 12th. The month of September wraps up with back-to-back home games against Independence and Iowa Central on the 19th and 26th.

The month of October will feature five games for the Conqs, starting with a new opponent who signed a scheduling agreement with the KJCCC, that is Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. The Conqs will travel to Miami, Oklahoma to take on NEO on Saturday, October 3rd. The next four weeks rotate between home and away, starting with a home contest against Ellsworth on Saturday, October 10th. On Saturday, October 17th, the Conqs will square off with Butler in El Dorado, and then host Highland on Saturday, October 24th, before wrapping up October on Halloween (31st) against the national runner-up, Hutchinson on the road.

Conqs will cap the regular season for 2026 on the first weekend of November as they will host Coffeyville on Saturday the 7th.

The Conqs look to make a jump in 2026 in year three under coach Lusby.
