The Conquistadors, following their victories, improved to 25-11 on the season and 9-3 in KJCCC action, having won five of their last six games in the series against Seward County.
Up next, the Conqs will be on the road for conference play on Saturday, March 28th, against Barton in Great Bend.
Game 1 – Won 9-5 vs Seward County
After holding Seward off the scoreboard over the first two innings, the Conqs were the first to score on the day, plating two runs in the second with a two RBI double by
Camren Moses leading the charge. Seward County countered, sending eight to the plate in the top of the third and scoring three, but the Saints' lead was short-lived as the Conqs scratched two across in the bottom of the third with an RBI double from Moses and an RBI single from
Sophie Faidley. In the top of the fourth, Seward County once again jumped in front to lead 5-4, sending seven to the plate to score two. In the bottom of the fifth, the Conqs worked a pair of runners on via walk to open the frame, and then a single and an error helped the Conqs score, while a two RBI double by
Karen Galaviz and an RBI single by
Cadie McCracken extended the Conqs lead with a five run sixth. The Conqs capped the game shutting down Sewrd in the sixth and seventh, and earned the 9-5 victory.

The Conqs' offense cooled off after that, and Seward County ultimately belted a three-run homer of their own in the third to draw even. The Saints then took the lead 4-3 with a run in the fourth and held that lead until the bottom of the sixth when the Conqs used three hits, two Seward County errors, and a walk to score four runs.
Kloe Nelson drove in the tying run on an RBI triple, and then
Dezarae Schmidt gave the Conqs the lead with an RBI single. Conqs worked around a Seward County single in the seventh to finish the game, earning the 7-4 win.
