The 2024-25 school year featured multiple top-notch performances for Dodge City CC athletics, and one Conquistador has been recognized for her success in her sport, along with her success in the classroom.
Gaemphuang Ketrahong earned the distinction of College Sports Communicators Academic All-American as she was named to the first team. The honors are awarded to only 20 women's student-athletes across all sports at the two-year level nationwide, and she was one of 13 that earned first-team honors.
To be considered for the honor of CSC Academic All-American, the student-athletes must first have been submitted by their SID (or communications liaison) for the CSC Academic All-District honors and then move on to the voting for the All-American honors. The student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or better, must be a sophomore academically and athletically, and have competed in 90% of the team's competitions.
Ketrahong capped her two-year career as a Conquistador with a great finish at the NJCAA Division I National Championship as she posted a four-round score of 298 (+10) to earn fourth place, matching the best individual finish at nationals in program history while also earning her first team NJCAA All-American honors. The Thailand native helped the team claim a seventh-place finish at nationals for the second straight year, along with sweeping the KJCCC, Region 6, and Plains District titles for the second straight year. During the 2024-25 season, Ketrahong won four tournaments, including claiming the Region 6 and Plains District individual titles. She finishes her Conq career with seven career wins and 19 Top 10 individual finishes and earned KJCCC All-Conference honors twice. In the classroom, she finished with a 3.95 GPA in two years at Dodge City and was awarded Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar twice.
Ketrahong is the first female Dodge City athlete to earn CSC Academic All-American honors and the third athlete overall to earn the distinction.
