Back-to-back winning seasons for the Dodge City football program after finishing 6-4 during the 2024 season and the Conquistadors have been rewarded with a #15 ranking in the final Top 15 NJCAA Division I rankings of the year.

The Conqs wrapped up their season back on November 9th capping the year with a 6-4 record and 3-3 finish in the Jayhawk Conference to finish fourth in the conference. The Conqs had the second-best conference record as there was a three-way tie for first. Seven Conqs earned All-Conference KJCCC honors for the 2024 season.Â

With the 6-4 record the Conqs finished back-to-back seasons with a winning record for the first time since the 2015 and 2016 seasons. First-year Head Coach,
Ryan Lusby led the Conqs to a 5-0 record at home with wins over Iowa Central, Tyler, Ellsworth, and Independence along with a forfeit win over Garden City. The Conqs also picked up a road win over then #8 Highland during the season.Â

Coach Lusby is one of only seven coaches of the 24 in school history for football that had a winning record in his first season leading the Conqs.Â

Eight of the Conqs' 10 opponents during the season were receiving votes or ranked when the Conqs played them, and five of the 10 finished in the final NJCAA rankings. According to the Massey Ratings, the Conqs finished the year with the second-highest-rated strength of schedule.
