For the first time since 2015, the Dodge City women's soccer team picked up points in a contest against the Cowley Tigers as the Conquistadors played to a 2-2 tie on the road against the #18 Tigers.
As the Conqs hit the road another ranked top-notch KJCCC opponent loomed in front of the Conqs it was nearly a victory for the Conqs but the contest finished 2-2 for the tie. Scoreless at halftime the Conqs broke through first in the 65th minute as
Sian Cha tallied a goal on a
Yui Fujii assist. The lead grew for the Conqs in the 77th minute as
Femke Wiedeman found the back of the net with Fujii helping lead the way with her second assist in the contest.
Up 2-0 the Conqs would see Cowley get in the board shortly after the Conqs second goal of the game as the Tigers scored in the 78th moving the contest to 2-1. With just over four minutes remaining Cowley managed to push another goal into the net and even the game up at 2-2 with the contest finishing with a tie.
Wiedeman and Cha tallied a goal each for the Conqs while Fujii had a pair of assists.
Lucia Martinez Garcia recorded four saves.
Up next the Conqs return home on Saturday, September 9th to take on Garden City at 1:00 pm.
