Box Score Dodge City women's soccer has been knocking on the door for a KJCCC win and broke through into the win column on Saturday on the road against Coffeyville earning a 2-1 decision.
The win moves the Conquistadors to 2-4-3 on the season and 1-4-3 in conference play, while snapping a seven-match losing streak to the Red Ravens. The win is the first over Coffeyville since 2011.
The Conqs would come out strong on the road on the attack early and the early push towards the goal would pay dividends as the Conqs would cash in for a goal in the sixth minute of the matchup.
Mariam El Mir Tartouri went top shelf right corner of the goal to get her fourth goal of the season as it came off a great pass from
Yui Fujii. The lead would remain until 20 minutes left in the first half when Coffeyville found their way on the board to tie the game.
Tied at 1-1 the opportunities continued to come for the Conqs and a El Mir cross into the middle of the box for
Femke Wiedeman who poked it into the net and gave Conqs the lead back in the 81st minute. The Conqs would go on to secure the 2-1 win.
In the win, the Conqs fired off 24 shots with 11 on goal, while in goal
Lucia Martinez Garcia recorded five saves.
