Thompson spent time on the gridiron for the Conqs from 2014-2015 before he finished his collegiate playing career at the University of Florida. The Pennsylvania native finished his Conq career as the all-time leader in career rushing touchdowns with 26 and had 18 in the 2015 season which ranks as the second most in a single season in school history. He was part of a 9-3 Conq football team in 2015 that would win a KJCCC title and play in the Salt City Bowl against Snow. Thompson during that 2015 season earned second-team NJCAA All-American honors amassing the fourth most rushing yards that season in all NJCAA and the third most rushing touchdowns that year.

At Florida in two seasons, he totaled 596 yards rushing with five touchdowns, along with 184 yards receiving and a touchdown. After brief stints with multiple NFL teams in training camps, Thompson has found a home in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers.

The Houston Gamblers posted a 5-5 record this season in the USFL, which was the second season for the League upon its return last year.
