After earning a playoff spot the Dodge City women's soccer team hit the road for the first round of the Plains District playoffs taking on #17 Cowley in Arkansas City.
The Conquistadors took Cowley to the brink at the last meeting in Arkansas City earlier in the season and would give the Tigers a battle again but a second-half goal by Cowley lifted them to the 1-0 victory. The loss caps the Conqs season at 4-10-5.
The first half was a tight battle and neither team was able to generate many shot opportunities as Cowley only outshot the Conqs 5-3. The limited shots did not produce a goal for either team leading to the matchup being a scoreless tilt at halftime. The second half would see Cowley pick up the pace offensively as the Tigers generated 11 shots compared to only four for the Conqs and in the 50th minute the Tigers notched the only goal of the contest. The Conqs would fall 1-0 on the road.
Conqs capped year three under Head Coach, Javier Holguin by competing in the KJCCC that featured five ranked teams most of the season and challenged several of the top teams including picking up a big 2-0 win over #10 KCK. The Conqs finished the season 4-9-5.
