Dodge City women's basketball got some revenge from an earlier season loss on the road to Cloud County by picking up their second straight win at home against the Thunderbirds winning 67-57.

The win moves the Conquistadors to 15-10 on the season and 10-9 in KJCCC action.Â

Conqs got rolling early opening the contest on a 9-0 run over the first three and half minutes highlighted by
Jenna Rose Mafua who scored five of the Conqs nine points. The Conq lead would continue to grow in the first quarter to a 17-2 advantage with 4:25 left in the quarter. Cloud County pushed back and the Conqs led 20-11 after the first quarter. The Thunderbirds continued to push back in the second quarter and did so to the tune of a 14-2 second quarter to own a 25-22 lead going into halftime. The third quarter was like the first as the Conqs surge back in front and led by double figures in the frame outscoring Cloud County 22-10 in the quarter to head into the final 10 minutes of the contest in control of the game. In the fourth, the lead grew to as high as 18-points and the Conqs would go on to secure the 67-57 victory.Â

Conqs defense held Cloud County to 35.2% shooting and forced 27 turnovers while overcoming 22 over their own and shot 38.6% from the field.Â

Mafua paced the Conqs with 17 points and added five rebounds and four steals, while
Krystina Hagood added 16 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.
Georgia Gray scored nine points, while
Bree Stephens finished with eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.Â

Five games remain in the regular season for the Conqs as they will hit the road in their next contest taking on first-place team in the KJCCC in the Independence Pirates on Monday, February 14th.
