Men's Basketball Tops Seward on the Road to Move to 3-0 in KJCCC Action

Dodge City men's basketball team remained unbeaten in KJCCC action taking down Seward County on the road 90-81 to win their fourth in the last five meetings with the Saints. 

The Conquistadors with the win improved to 7-1 on the season and 3-0 in KJCCC play; the win also makes it seven straight victories for the Conqs. 

The first half was back-and-forth with both teams owning the lead and a late surge in the first half by the Saints of Seward County gave them their largest lead of the game at 46-38 entering halftime. In the second half, the Conqs tried to push back but Seward would grow their lead to 11-points. Just under 14 minutes left in the contest, the Conqs took their first lead of the second half at 57-56 on a Shawn Warrior three-pointer. The lead remained in the Conqs' favor throughout the rest of the contest even growing to double figures as high as 13 points at 81-68. Conqs would finish out the contest with a 52-point second half to secure the 90-81 victory. 

The Conqs shot a season-best 55.6% from the floor using that hot shooting night to lead the way as Seward shot 41.9% from the floor. 

Cam Malray and DJ Jones paced the Conqs with 17 points each on the night while three other guys posted double figures also. Malray added six rebounds and was 7-15 shooting, while Jones had four rebounds and was 8-13 shooting. Jason Edwards tallied 16 points going 6-7 from the free throw line and had three assists. Jacobi Sebock chipped in 12 points and added five rebounds and Warrior added 11 points and six rebounds.

Conqs will welcome Northwest Kansas Tech to Dodge City on Wednesday, November 30th at 7:30 pm.
