Returning sophomore standout, Tavareon Martin-Scott has signed a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina.
The linebacker chose the Gamecocks over West Virginia University and Mississippi State University.

"I chose South Carolina because I think they'll give me the opportunity to show off my athleticism in a variety of ways in their program," said Martin-Scott on the decision. "It's always been my dream since I was a kid to play in the SEC."

"Bam", as he's affectionately known, finally has his dream opportunity. In a strange twist of fate, Martin-Scott will have more time in the Gamecock program than expected. Due to COVID-19 and its effect on eligibility, this upcoming season for the Conquistadors will not count against him. Bam will step foot onto campus in Columbia, South Carolina with three years of eligibility remaining.

"I am so proud of Tavareon," said head coach Ricky Coon. "He has worked extremely hard on and off the field to earn this opportunity. We can't wait to watch him play on Saturdays. His story is a great testament to the power of junior college football. It can make dreams into reality!"

Martin-Scott had 42 tackles in nine games for the Conquistadors last year with a season high of 14 coming in a week five loss to Iowa Western. Bam also recorded 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception, and two forced fumbles. He looks to continue his strong play into the 8-game 2021 season.

The Conquistadors kick off their 2021 campaign on Saturday, March 27^th at Memorial Stadium when RPA College Prep comes into town.
