Conquistador Softball Takes Game 1 Thanks To Second Inning Boost 12-2
The Lady Conquistadors put up nine runs in the second on its way to a 12-2 victory over the Broncbusters on Saturday in game 1. The Conquistador offense in the inning was led by Gianna Browdy, Jordan Irwin, Haley Bass, Karissa Avila, Alex Pacheco and Makayla Kolojoy, all knocking in runs in the inning.

The Lady Conquistadors pulled away for good with nine runs in the second inning. In the second Megan Walz induced Browdy to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, an error scored one run for Dodge City, Walz induced Bass to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Avila singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, Pacheco singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Kologoy singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Courtney Huff doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Daysha Mendez singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The Conquistadors collected 13 hits. Kolojoy, Pacheco, and Mendez all had multiple hits for Dodge City. Kolojoy went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dodge City in hits. Kolojoy was the winning pitcher for Dodge City. She threw four and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking our nine. 

Conquistador Softball Grab Lead in Fourth Inning of Game 2 to Defeat Garden City 16-8
The Lady Conquistadors defeated Garden City 16-8 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at seven with Dodge City batting in the bottom of the fourth when Gianna Browdy homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

The Lady Conquistadors totaled 16 hits in the game. Browdy, Mendez, Espinosa, BAss, Pacheco, and Avila all managed multiple hits for Dodge City. Espinosa, Mendez, and Browdy each collected three hits.  Jessica Espinoza earned the vicotry for Dodge City as she surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, walking zero. Allie Hufford started the game for Dodge City and lasted three innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while walking zero.
