Dodge City, KS. -- The Dodge City Community College Women's Basketball team goes on the road Saturday to take on the Cougars of Barton Community College. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
The Series
· Since 2014-15, the Cougars hold a 6-3 advantage in the series.
· Barton has won two of the last three in the series.
· In the last meeting earlier this season, Alec Fitts led the way for the Conqs.
She scored close to half the teams' points in a 45-42 loss. She scored 19 points and added 9 rebounds.
Fast Break
· After a tough month of January, the Conqs finished strong and have now won four straight games.
· Dodge City was able to win easily over Northwest Kansas Technical College 79-52.
They were also able to hold off Pratt Community College 53-47.
· Dodge City was able to race to a 21-point lead into the halftime break and able to coast to a 27-point victory over Northwest
Kansas. As a team, DC3 shot 44.2% from the field and 35.3% from the three-point line.
They also managed to outrebound Northwest 65-37.
· Allie Baker had a good all-around performance, scoring 11 points, to go along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds.
· A very low scoring 3rd quarter wound up being the difference in the victory over Pratt Community College.
The Conqs outscored the beavers 10-6 in what wound up being a 6-point victory.
DC3 shot 39.1% from the field, 25% from three and 63.2% from the free throw line and won the rebounding battle 36-29.
· Addison Rowley and Mikaela Ewing each added 10 points.
Scouting Barton Community College
· Barton owns a 17-7 overall record. They have been tough at home. They have a 10-2 record on their home floor
· As a team, Barton shot 55% from the field, and 87% from the free throw line last week.
· The Cougars have won three consecutive games coming into Saturday's contest.
