Box Score The Dodge City Community College men's soccer team put together a dominating performance Wednesday to take a 3-0 victory over rival Garden City. The game was a complete effort from the Conqs and put them in solid possession of third place in the Jayhawk West just three points behind conference leader Barton.
The Conqs a jump start early in the game from sophomore
Anthony Bolivar. In just the fourth minute of the game, Bolivar blasted a rebound off of a
Connor O'Neill shot into the back of the net to give Dodge the early 1-0 lead. Bolivar was not done for the half, in the 13
th minute of the game he took a beautiful pass from Gustavo Lemus Borba and once again scored to give the Conqs a two goal lead. The remainder of the first half saw very good opportunities for Dodge City, but they were not able to capitalize and went to half up 2-0.
The Conqs made sure there were no visions of a comeback by the Broncbusters early in the second half. In the 47
th minute,
Johnley Dezile beat a Garden defender on the left side then drove in to send a rocket past the goalkeeper to give the Conqs a 3-0 lead. Although there were multiple opportunities for the Conqs the rest of the way, including a blast by Joshua Don Juan late in the game that was turned away by the Garden keeper, they were not able to get any more goals on the board.
The victory pushes the Dodge City record to 7-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play. They will host Pratt Community College on Saturday at 4:00pm to begin the second round of conference play.
