Box Score The Dodge City women's soccer team got back in the win column in a big way on Saturday with a 7-0 win over Hesston Community College. The Conqs managed to get three goals in the opening half then finished strong with four more in the second half to create the final margin of victory.
In the first half the goals were spread fairly evenly throughout the half.
Renica Beauplan got the Conqs on the board taking an assist from
D'Ana Prieto in the 20
th minute to put Dodge City up 1-0.
Amber Ruiz got her first goal of the season in the 31
st minute to stretch the lead to 2-0. Just before the half,
Melissa Del Real Luna struck in the 44
th minute to give the Conqs the 3-0 lead they would take into the break.
The second half got off to a good start for Dodge City as
Yamile Hernandez found the back of the net off of another assist from Prieto. Prieto then continued her very productive day by scoring two goals of her own in the second half. The first goal came in the 57
th minute, then Dodge City went quiet for a while as it took until the 84
th minute of the game before Prieto scored her second goal of the day.
Lexin Rivera finished off the scoring for the Conqs as she managed to find the net with under a minute left in the contest.
Hesston managed only two shots on goal, both coming in the second half of the game. Francine Mays got the stop on both of those shots.
The win pushes Dodge City's record to 4-5-1 overall and 3-3 in conference play They will be back in action on Wednesday as they will host Garden City Community College at 2:00pm at Memorial Stadium.
