Defense Shows Up Once Again in 1-0 Win Over NW Tech

Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. – Coming off their first third shutout of the year, the Conquistadors continued their defensive dominance on Wednesday as they defeated Northwest Tech by a score of 1-0.
 
The Conquistadors out-shot the Mavericks in the game, 15-3.
 
Just 12 minutes into the game, the Conqs put the pressure on and Gustavo Lemos Borba found Eduardo Gabriel da Silva in the box who touched it into the back of the net to give Dodge City a 1-0 lead.
 
The Mavericks turned up the pressure in the second half, but the Conquistador defense stepped up to the challenge, finishing their second shutout in as many games.
 
The Conquistador men's soccer team is now 5-2 on the year and will be in action again on Sept. 15, in Great Bend, Kan., to take on the Barton Cougars at 4 p.m.
