Conqs Collect 2nd Straight Shutout, Defeat NOC-Tonkawa, 2-0

Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - Scoring both goals in the second half, the Conquistadors were able to shutout Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa on Wednesday evening by a score of 2-0.

Rafael Callegari was in net for the Conquistadors, as he collected four saves in the game and did not allow a goal.

Throughout the entire first half, both teams had multiple chances but neither team could capitalize, heading into the locker room with the score tied at zero.

Then just four minutes into the second half, the ball found Connor O'Neill in the middle of the field and O'Neill fired a shot just past the keeper to give Dodge City a 1-0 lead.

The Mavericks then turned up the intensity, trying to get back in the game, but the Conquistador defense held strong. With just under two minutes to play in the game, Johnley Dezile was able to break free and put the game away with a goal of his own to give Dodge City a strong 2-0 win.

The Conquistadors move to 3-1 on the year and will now take six days off before they begin KJCCC play on Sept. 5, in Pratt, Kan. Dodge City will take on the Beavers at 4 p.m.
