Box Score The Dodge City men's soccer game against Cloud County was a game that saw big swings, but in the end Cloud came out with the win. The T-Birds used two early second half goals to secure a 4-2 victory on Wednesday.
The match-up set up to be a great game as the two teams were sitting at 2
nd and 3
rd in the conference standings coming into the game. To top that off the Conqs had not lost a game since their early September contest at Cloud. The T-Birds struck first in the game as they got on the board in the 16
th minute of the game. They followed that with another goal in the 28
th minute of the game to take a 2-0 lead. The Conqs, however, were not about to go quietly. They finally got their offense going in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Just over 32 minutes into the game
Hugo Torregrossa took a pass from Samuel Oriques Nico and found the back of the net to cut the Conq deficit in half. 10 minutes later with under three minutes remaining in the first half,
Gustavo Lemos Borba lined up a corner kick and put it directly in front of the goal where
Anthony Bolivar headed it into the goal to tie the game at two.
The second half started much as the first did with Cloud getting on the scoreboard again just over five minutes into the half when Jean-Pierre Dasylva got behind the defense to score his second goal of the match. Cloud pushed their lead out to 4-2 when Baptiste Bissessur scored with just over thirty minutes left in the match. This time the Conqs were not able to find an answer as Cloud went into defensive mode and held off numerous opportunities for Dodge.
The loss drops the Conqs to 8-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference play. They will travel to Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland on Saturday for a 3:00pm Mountain Time game.
