Box Score 2 GREAT BEND, Kan. - Both the men's and women's soccer teams were able to grab huge wins on Wednesday night, as the women defeated Barton, 1-0. The men were able to win on two late goals to defeat No. 16 Barton.
Throughout the first half of the women's game, both teams had limited changes. With 30 seconds left in the half,
Begona Rodriguez Bravo beat the Barton defense and took a shot, but a tremendous save kept the game tied at zero, heading into the locker room.
With a scoreless first half on Wednesday, the Conqs and Cougars had added up 155 minutes without scoring a goal. Both teams went scoreless in Dodge City on September 6, ending in a tie, 0-0.
After about 16 minutes of scoreless play in the second half, Bravo took a free-kick from just left of the box, sneaking in near post to give Dodge City a 1-0 lead with 28:38 to play in the game.
With just five minutes remaining, Barton was able to get good contact on a header, but
Courtney Turner made a good save to hold the Conqs lead, 1-0.
The Dodge City defense held strong for the remainder of the game, receiving the 1-0 win.
Early in the first half, the men fell behind the Cougars after a great corner was put into the box and headed in for the first goal of the game.
Heading into the locker room, Barton had four shots on goal while Dodge City had not even taken a shot.
Irvin Rodriguez was able to tie the game at one with just 20:57 left to play in the game.

Johnley Dezile who put it into the back of the net to take a 2-1 lead over No. 16 Barton.
The women are now 5-6-1 while the men are 5-3-3. Both teams will be back in action again on Sunday as they host Garden City Community College at 2 and 4 p.m.
