Nick Noskowiak fast-break transition layup. CCC would quickly regain the lead before treys by
Harris Brown and
Kourtney Ware would put the Conqs back on top as Dodge City would lead the Trojans the final 13:17 of the first half. DC3 would build their lead up to as many as 14 on a pair of

The Conquistadors would start to gain some breathing room on another Brown triple to go up 60-52 with 10:27 remaining when Colby would score eight straight points over the next 2:32 to tie the game at 60 apiece. The scoring run would not be over for the Trojans as the CCC would cap off their run at 12-0 to take a 67-63 lead with 5:44 remaining when a
Mike Jones free throw would snap a nearly five minute DC3 scoring drought. Trailing by three at 71-68 with 3:01 left in the game, DC3 would find their deficit doubled on a hoop and foul for Drew Young to put Colby up six as another Conquistador drought would allow for Colby to go on a 6-0 run and take a 77-68 lead with 1:07 left in the game. The gap would be too much for DC3 to overcome in the final minute as the Trojans would go three of four from the line and add two fast-break field goals to put away Dodge City.
While the Conqs could not continue their shooting performance from the first half, Colby managed to shoot over 48 percent from the field in both halves to finish 29 of 60 (48.3%) from the floor in the game and hit 22 of 31 free throws (71.0%).
