DODGE CITY, Kan. - After tying the game at two in the 49th minute, the Dodge City Community College men's soccer team would give up a goal in the 68th minute and could not find an equalizer in a 3-2 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Match at Memorial Stadium in Dodge City.
DC3 is now 0-7-2 and 0-5-1 in the KJCCC.
After giving up a goal at the 21:13 mark on a set piece, the Conquistadors would respond with a goal of their own when Emilio Arrubarenna would finish a pass sent in by
Jamie Scott. The tie would be short lived however, as the Beavers would come back just under a minute later and score another goal to make the game 2-1. In the second half, Dodge City would again knot the game when
Isaac Palma would finish a ball sent in by Scott and give the Conquistadors momentum. Once the momentum wore off, Pratt took advantage of a loose ball in the middle of the box off a corner kick and eventually scoring a goal. DC3 would have a few chances in the final minutes, but would have their best opportunity thwarted by the crossbar when a shot sent in over the goalie would bounce off the turf and off the crossbar.
Another game awaits the Conquistadors on Saturday, when Northwest Kansas Tech comes to town for a 7 p.m. match. Dodge City was supposed to play the Mavericks earlier this year, but had the game postponed due to weather.
