Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - Looking to hand Barton Community College their third loss of the season, the Dodge City Community College men's soccer team saw their final opportunity blocked and then a late goal seal their fate in a 3-1 home loss in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 18. 

DC3 is now 4-8-2 on the year and 2-5-1 in conference action while Barton improved to 12-2-0 and 6-2-0. 

The Cougars would do their damage early on with goals at the 11:05 mark and 34:37 mark to take a 2-0 halftime lead in a game that Dodge City seemed to be out of sorts. A completely different team emerged in the second half, pushing to find a goal which they would when Isaac Palma would send in a ball to Jamie Scott to the right side of the box that would be sent home to cut the lead in half. Pushing for a draw, Dodge City brought everyone up on a final free kick from just outside the box with 40 seconds left, but would have the shot blocked and a counterattack lead to an empty-net goal to send Barton home 3-1 winners. 

The Conquistadors would put up 12 shots in the match with five shots coming on goal compared to 18 for the Cougars with 11 coming on goal. Eric Edge would make eight saves between the pipes in 90 minutes of action. 

Two more games are on the schedule for DC3 with both games having major playoff implications. Dodge City will now host Northwest Kansas Tech on Friday with a start time to be determined tomorrow.
