Box Score GREAT BEND, Kansas: An offensive Barton (15-7, 5-5) proved too much for Dodge City (10-14, 1-9) as the Cougars dropped the Conqs 74-55, outscoring them in both halves.
Dodge fell to a 16-point deficit in the first half and were defeated 37-34 in the second half for the 74-55 decision. The Conqs owned a 33.9 field goal percentage after shooting 19-56 overall and collected on two of eight attempts from long range.
Barton capitalized with a 45.2 field goal percentage, 50.0 three-point field goal percentage and 65.2 percentage from the charity stripe.
Antania Newton led the Conq offensive efforts with 14 points and two assists. She put in five from the field and went 4-6 from the free throw line.
Johlicia Williams was next for DC3 with a nine-point performance after owning two from the field and a near perfect 5-6 performance from the charity stripe.
Azaria Nave had seven points and two steals on the night.
Alejandra Esparza and
Hannah Whitaker led the defensive effort with Esparza pulling down eight boards and posting three blocks and two steals while Whitaker pulled down seven rebounds and posted two steals and a block. Both had six points on the night.
