Box Score CHANDLER, Ariz. -- The Dodge City Community College women's basketball team used a balanced effort to keep its record unblemished with an 88-75 victory over Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Monday night at the Arizona Classic.
The Conquistadors, who improved to 8-0 on the season, were led by
Rachel Slattery's 20 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks.
Talisha Presley had 12 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals,
Antania Newton had 10 points and
Brittany Leonard finished with nine points.
"It's always satisfying beating a quality opponent on their home floor," DC3 coach
Mark James said. "We took an eight point lead into the half and were able to stretch it out in the third quarter. We were very balanced today, and not just in scoring. We all put forth effort on the defensive end. ...
"This was our closest game of the season margin wise, but it may have been the best I've felt after a game this year."
Dodge City continues play in Arizona 4 p.m. Tuesday against Glendale Community College.
